I was very surprised... I wonder why some schools waste their time like that.

I'm inclined to agree, except that if they get some sort of database from LSAC it could easily be an entirely automated process.

This is true!  I guess there are some people who might take them up on a full ride including stipend.  Sounds nice, but that's not for me.

i got one.  this is the third school that has made overtures to recruit me now.  the others are cooley and regent.  if this keeps up, my ego may become too big to control.

I too received the email from Washburn.  I wonder how far down the LSAT scale they went with their automatic emailing.

Advice for soon to be law school applicants,
Don't be too surprised by the e-mails from schools, or any other gimmicks. They send them to anyone, and I do mean anyone that they think might help their stats (high gpa, high lsat, minority status, etc). However, if a school you are interested in offers you a application fee waiver, then take it.  And rest assured that you are not the only one receiving these mass emails. The emails will be followed by a flood of snail mail that will not stop until late February.  It's just something that law schools do.  Don't get too excited. My advice: focus on the schools you really want to go to and ignore the rest of the junk.  It can become quite distracting. And, most importantly, good luck to all of you.
