Law School Discussion

this may sound like a dumb question but is it a bad/stupid idea to go to law school in a state that you don't want to consider taking the bar in or practicing in?

You have to consider how well that degree is going to travel.  While whichever school you go to may be a very good school, that's probably not going to impress an employer on the other coast who's never heard of it.

depends on how good the school is and how far away the state is.  i.e., not a good idea to go to colorado w/ the intention of practicing in south carolina

Going to a top 20-25 school out of the market you are considering practicing in is usually fine.  As was stated earlier, you can just look up how well schools place out of state.
