hopefully all those death threats spurred you on, otherwise you would have applied even later. 

Indeed they did!  But alas, I think I still screwed myself. 

Oh well, a top 40 school is better than a TTT at least.

you have not heard from most of your schools yet because 3 of them have been hit by locusts, 1 with wilfires, and the other 4 by packs of rabid armadillos.  this has slowed down the admissions processes.
