Rejected @ Penn
« on: December 12, 2005, 04:22:02 PM »

It was expected, though not in the very first batch of letters.  :-\

I'm glad I got an acceptance under my belt back in November; it makes this part easier.

ACK!

Sorry to hear that. I'm glad that you've got a happy acceptance at another school though.

That sucks.  I assume this was by snail mail?  Where are you located?  Having another acceptance really takes the sting off =).

By snail mail, in a thin white envelope. I'm in the northeast. Good luck.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck with Penn, LadyS.  Would you mind posting some ballpark #s?

In the ballpark of 166/3.8.

For "application strength" context, I'm in at Texas (out of state) and deferred at UVA.

Your GPA is higher than mine, and we have the same LSAT...I'm bracing myself.

Did you apply Early Notification?

You can do a lot worse than Texas.  Congrats!!!  And I wouldn't give up hope on UVa; it looks like you have a fighting chance.  Good luck.

Thanks, guys.

Misscarlet, I did apply Early Notification.

I think that a good number of applicants in our range should be deferred or waitlisted. Best of luck.
