Redo Kaplan?
« on: July 13, 2004, 11:46:07 AM »
I'm new here but I've been lurking for about 2 months.  I took the Kaplan classroom course for and my score went down on the actual exam. I'm taking the test again in October.  I did all the homework, went to class etc.  I'm eligible for a refund or I can take the class over.  I don't care about the class I just want access to their resources (test, workshops, etc).  But if I can purchase books with a bunch of tests and explanations then I will get a refund.  Where can I obtain such books?  Any suggestions on how I could work Kaplan if I do decide to stick with them?

If your goal is to further decrease your score, then it would probably be helfpul to take the course again.  if you are trying to get different results, you might try something else.

Obviously, Kaplan isn't working for you so try something else.  I'll be enrolling in PS starting in August, which is supposed to be excellent.  TM is supposed to be good, too, but I had a bit of administrative problems with them so just call and confirm, confirm, confirm before enrolling!  Otherwise, they'll be five hours till your class and still no information on your class location, instructor, or course materials.

Buddy, if Kaplan didn't work for you and you did everything you were supposed to, I would absolutely get a refund.  You can spend the money, like you said, on tests and other books, or try another class (apparently Test Masters and Power Score are great--I wouldn't know, I dropped $1100 and my score went up a whopping four points).

Seriously though, forget Kaplan.  Try something else.

Hey, Mikey, which one did you take - PS or TM?  Just curious.

Princeton Review, though I wish I listened to my friends advice and took Power Score.  I've just heard second hand, from this board and those in real life, that those two (TM and PS) are awesome.  Opps.  Oh well.

Get your money back from Kaplan and take Testmasters180 or Powerscore.

Don't redo Kaplan.  I did, and it sucks.  Take Powerscore.  Ironically, a Kaplan instructor reccomended Powerscore to me.
