Twas the Night Before Ding-mas...
« on: December 05, 2005, 09:33:38 PM »
I see on LSN that two of the schools I applied to have started sending decisions to people who were complete at roughly the same time that I was.

So far, nothing in my mailbox.

I did a drop-in visit at my first choice last week, and they told me I "might" hear something before the holidays.

The waiting is killing me.  I think my head may explode.

'Twas the night before Ding-mas, when all through the land
0Ls were waiting for decisions, but nobody could understand
Their apps were sent in early, from far and from near
In hopes they'd gain acceptance at somewhere by New Year
The applicant nestled all snug in their beds
While visions of Toby Stock danced in their heads
And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled down to wait for the mailman's cr*p
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my beer pong game to see what was the matter
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
False alarm, just the neighborhood dealer selling his stash
Back to getting drunk, what else is new
But I'm gleaming with optimism that an acceptance is due
Another days has passed and still no letter
Why am I still writing this, I should know better

Sending a poem about chronic drinking and wanting a call from the Harvard Dean of Admissions to Yale for their essay...I think I missed an opportunity here.

For the first time ever, a Yale adcomm will have to worry about yield protection.
