Optional essays?

Optional essays?
« on: November 21, 2005, 09:35:54 PM »
I have a personal statement that is pretty good and works for all my schools.  Some schooles like Michigan and others offer the opportunity to write optional essays on various topics like diversity or what we want to do with a law degree.  Will I be at a disadvantage if I do not write a second essay?  I am a borderline applicant for schools like Michigan, but I am not sure if a second essay will really add much (and at a school the size of Michigan, who knows if they will actually read it?).

Thanks

You must write the essays.

Yes, they both read them and want them.  It shows you have a reason for applying other than "top-ranked law school"
