What do you think my chances are?? 3.0 GPA with a 146 LSAT. Finance major who graduated in 2000. Looking to enroll in Fall '04 at one of the following schools: Suffolk University, Northeastern, UCONN, or Vermont Law. I'd like to stay in the Boston area if possible. Just married and working for the same company for the past 3 years in an inside sales role. Also, has anyone used a connection with a dean before? My father's lifelong friend is a relative of a prominent figure at one of the school's mentioned above. Any advice on how to best utilize that connection?

146 is kinda of low. Suffolk and Vermont are not that difficult to get into, but I believe their median is somewhere in the mid 150s.  Why don't you consult with your "friend" who has some connection to the law school to see if he can possibly help. Just be blunt, what's the worst that can happen.  Telling the truth goes a long way.
