2 of my recomenders sent me a copy.  I didn't ask for them, and I supplied them with the stamped envelopes.  I guess it just depends on your relationship and their preference.  It doesn't say anywhere that "they are not supposed to."  It is up to the student to check the box.  who cares?

oh, and i am glad I got one of them because there was an error.

So.. did you then ask your recommender to revise the letter to correct the mistake?  Or, had they already sent it off?

he had already sent it, so I called LSAC and made that letter "inactive" and had him send in another one.  scary!!

Was the mistake just simply a spelling mistake or typo?  If so i wonder what adcom's would think of this.  I doubt they would care too much.  On the other hand, if the mistake was something along the lines of making a statement which was incorrect, I can see how this would be of concern.
