I got an email from UT this morning. I was one of the 20% held over to the general application pool.
They said they had 1500 EA's and made decsisions on 80% of them. On the bright side, I suppose it is better to be among the 300 carried over than among those who were dinged... Do we have any idea of how many of the 80% are in/out?
My online status reflects this as well.

I didn't receive an email either. I'm hearing some bells ringing off in the distance.

"Power Outage Affecting Mainframe
There was a power outage to an ITS machine room on campus this morning around 6:00 a.m. Many campus IT services remain unavailable. There is not yet an estimated time for service restoration, but more details will be distributed as they become available.
"
Oh come on, don't play with my emotions... lol

I was able to get back in.
Here is what I get for status: "Your JD application was processed on October 18, 2005
and is currently being considered for Early Decision"

Are we to beleive that they have already gone through all the ED applications? Hobert's e-mail seems to reflect that...

The body of the email:
"Thank you for your application to The University of Texas School of
Law. Upon review of your application, the Admissions Committee has
decided to hold your file for further consideration with the general
applicant pool. Your status as a "hold" should not be viewed as a
denial nor an invitation to the waitlist.
The Law School received approximately 1500 applications for Early
Decision, and while the Admissions Committee was able to make final
decisions on 80% of the applications, certain files, yours included,
must be evaluated against the general applicant pool before a final
decision can be made. We anticipate that a final decision will be
made by mid-April. While we understand this delay may be inconvenient,
I assure you that we are doing our best to make decisions in a
timely manner.
Again, thank you for your patience, and we appreciate your continued
interest in The University of Texas School of Law."

I can't believe they deferred you with your numbers. Even with you being out of state.
