Rush admitted he was wrong...did Barb?
And Clinton? Do you know who was the last Pres. to be impeached? I can't even remember back that far.
Did Rush say he was wrong to use drugs, or wrong to have been so sanctimonious to begin with? If it was the latter, has he been less self-righteous since? (The answer may be yes... I really don't know.) These are the questions that determine my judgement of him.
I don't know if Barbara apologized for wasting water, or for wasting water while she was out promoting an earth concious lifestyle. But again, my judgement of her rests on the level of her sanctimoniousness and the severity of the infraction.
Similarly with Clinton. Yes, it was wrong to lie about having an affair. But he lied about having an affair, and that's not something I consider a public problem. It would a lot different to me if Clinton had raped someone. Or if he'd authorized the sale of arms to an enemy nation or something.
Look at Ted Kennedy. What happened in Chappaqquick makes me sick. He should have gotten whatever punishment people usually get for manslaughter (prison time, I imagine.) He should have apologized to the girl's family publicly, and basically owned up to putting his political career above her life and taken the consequences. One of which, I imagine, would have been an end to his political career right then and there.
