specifically, the progam he has "writes over" something?? 5X, so it cant be detected. its some kind of expensive spyware stuff. i dont know the techincal details about the program. i wonder if the IT dept. at the college could find the stuff b/c the laptop is networked to the school?

They could go through the proxy server logs, but there's ways he can avoid that trap, too.

Why not just do it the old-fashioned way?  Sleep with his best friend!  Or, get a monkey to throw poo at him!

get past this... revenge is for the weak... wanting people to hurt because you hurt is pathetic... and frankly, this might be socially unacceptable, but wanting head from a 17 y/o is not illegal... getting head from a 17 y/o would be... but the second she turns 18, it wouldn't... i personally don't find it morally horrible or anything... as if somehow magically turning 18 turns the atrocious into okay...

I'd ask this over on the students and graduates side. It reads like a fact pattern. I don't really feel like putting alot of thought in to this right now because it's late, but it sounds like you both could tread onto the shaky ground of defamation. Of course, truth is always a defense to defamation, and accordingly the burden is on the defendant to prove truth. If you've engaged in revenge defamation, you could be subject to a counter-claim. If you've damaged him in his job, there may be a possibility of sizable cha-ching for him. My advice, move on. It's not worth the potential expense.

I agree with bloomich.

Why don't you just put a pipe bomb in his car for God's sake.

I say leave him alone. It's not slander and I think its overreaction, he's done nothing illegal.

This kind of thing really makes me question why women are so sensitive and emotional about pointless stuff.

People who work at the school can monitor his internet activity and usage. He is deleting things from his computer itself, but all those files (i.e. pictures, web pages, text, etc.) are traveling across the school's network. I would contact someone in IT and tell them the situation and ask them to monitor it. They may, at that point, be obligated by school policy to tattle on the rat themselves.

I don't think revenge is a good idea. It may make you feel better, but it may also cost you. Find a way to get something from him of value to you, what good is making him hurt?

Legal advice would be the best way to go, but again that'll cost you. A good lawyer may be able to convince him that you have a case and get a settlement. But you will have to show the lawyer the material which again may not be desirable to you. Perhaps you could send an e-mail to the server posting the material and simply ask them to take it down,  they don't like the idea of litigation anymore than anybody else.
Freak is the best, Freak is the best!  Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I don't like calling you Freak, I'd rather call you  Normal Nice Guy.

I really don't know what the heck this has with being accepted into law school, unless you are applying and are worried that these details will be disclosed to the admissions board of your dream school.

Or maybe you want advice from people who will someday become lawyers? Most of what you will get will be re-hashed "Law & Order" quotes. I suggest you tell us all of the graphic details that your ex posted so that we can give you some informed advice.

1.  Find a monkey.

2.  Teach it to throw monkey poo at your ex.

If you need some revenge monkeys, I do have some for sale (see avatar).
