That IBM looks like a pretty good deal, actually better than what I have seen on the IBM website. Did you get that through the student section, or does your law school have a special deal? My school doesn't have special deals, and you all have just about talked me into an IBM.
The deal is offered through Harvard. I work for a Harvard assistant professor. If you know anyone at Harvard, they can get a ThinkPad at about 30% off for you. Plus they come with a standard 3-year warranty. I guess someone at IBM really wants to give the people at Harvard a good deal for some reason.
