screwed up big time
« on: July 06, 2004, 09:26:57 AM »
Hi guys,

I finally took the Lsats. I really have been putting it off for about a year.
I finally took it and totally panicked. I basically did better hung over.
I got a pathetic 154. I want to go to Temple law, but their median lsat and gpa is higher than mine. My gpa is 3.3 and I went to Smith College. I've been working at a law firm, but am not sure what kind of recomendation i'm going to get.

I swear if i see another lsat exam EVER, i'll throw up. Any idea if i'll EVER get into  Temple or Rutgers???

Also any law school you recommend for public interest or international relations??

thanks guys
please be honest-  do i have a shot at all?

http://www.chiashu.com/cgi-bin/lsac.cgi?gpa=3.3&lsat=154

Temple University—James E. Beasley School of Law 0.13421425841372667
Rutgers University School of Law—Newark 0.16089282224297502

The website aboves helps you to determine the likelihood of your admittance into those schools solely based on numbers.  Don't forget, LSDAS counts your GPA slightly differently- with A+ being 4.33, which may help you.  Also, don't despair, there is no harm in applying and seeing where that goes (of course, apply to other schools as well).  Numbers don't count for everything.

Forgive the stupid question but...does "Temple University—James E. Beasley School of Law 0.13421425841372667" mean that there is a 1 in 10 chance of getting into Temple? I'm unsure how to interpret these scores...math was never my strong suit.

Alex - I applied to Rutgers-Newark with a 3.2 and a 157 and didn't get in.  So if you are serious about those schools, my advice would be to study your ass off and take it again.
