I just got the Common CD and I think it is really good. So, I decided to make a poll.

There is only one person in the history of hip-hop who I would go to see over Pac, and even that would be a tough call: Biggie.

I wrote my Junior Writing Proficiency exam on Tu Pac and his song Dear Momma. I talked about how it challenged social norms by providing the image of a strong black single female mother. Also, how he helped change the image of rappers as being thugs. This was hard to argue but I actually added verses in which he expresses his desire for a rise in black consciousness.
I go to a pretty conservative school and I wonder what they will think about it.

All in all. I would rather attend a Talib Kweli concert.

I've seen Common in concert twice and he's excellent.

It's kind of tough to be forced to choose between someone living and someone dead. I mean, you could give me a choice of anyone living today and I'd still choose Jimi Hendrix or Marvin Gaye over any of them.

For what it's worth, I chose Common.
