Duke vs. USNWR
« on: October 24, 2005, 01:20:23 AM »
Quick question: How come Duke Law dropped in the rankings these past years? At one point in 1994 they were #7; In 98' and 99' they were #8. Today they are #11. Why the decline?

Well, given USNEWS' criteria, it could be because of quite a few things - LSAT and GPA, Money spent on students, admissions percentage, bar passage rate, etc. Deloggio has it hidden on website why Duke and Penn consistantly change from the top 8 to the top 14.. look it up on there.

I think Duke may have been fudging their numbers in the 90's.  However, if you look at the rep ratings, they're much more constant.  Both Duke and Penn tend to be ranked around the #10 spot in these rankigns, with little variation.
