Regarding Hofstra's wait list, I e-mailed the admissions office last week and they informed me that a decision had been mailed out (this is how they inform applicants). Unfortunately, they could not give me the decision through e-mail/over the phone.
So, after I receive my decision, you should have a better idea as to where you stand. If I was denied, then your application is still being held because your numbers are close or meet the incoming class' numbers. If I was accepted, I would imagine you should be receiving a response soon.
If you don't mind me asking, what are your numbers?
