« on: October 08, 2005, 03:46:01 PM »
Hey guys, I know this can be really annoying but pleeease tell me your opinions. I cancelled in June, took october and I'm pretty sure I got a 165.  I have a miserable gpa 3.22 but I'm a Texas resident.  Good PS and good to average lors.  What do you guys think??  Should I take again in December??  I've been scoring in the low 170s on my preptests.  Pleeease tell me tell me!!  Thanks a bunnch.  Oh yeah, and I got no work experience.  :-\

Wait for your score to come back and then worry about it.  If you are borderline you need to do the interview.  That should help.

Does a good interview make a big difference for UT?

If you are white, I would give you a 30-40% chance. If you are black/latino/native amer. I would say they will give you at least 60% tuition. Good luck either way!

Apparently it does. They have some kind of essay portion of the interview, I heard.

If you're committed to Texas, and you get a 165, it's going to be rough sleding.  I just have no idea why you would be so positive you got a 165, when you were testing at 170.  It seems clear to me you have test anxiety issues, although I don't know if they crop up during the test or after.  If you have that bad of test anxiety, you'll need to work it out before retesting.  In that case, you probably will have to apply next cycle.  But this discussion is moot until you get the score back, considering I really don't see how you have anything to base your prediction off of.
