Reading comp prep
« on: October 05, 2005, 09:54:02 PM »
Let me preface this with, I understand reading the passages is the best way to prepare.  Thankyou, I know that.  What I want to know is what materials to read to prepare?  I am not talking about LSAT passages.  I will do that, but am not taking the LSAT for a while, and would like to prepare doing this, knowing I will be reading the passages down the road.

But what are the magazines, journals, newspapers that are recomended?

Thanks

Here are some of the sources of LSAT prose from the last 50 preptests.  If you want to get familiar with their sources this selection would be one way.  Or read tough journals and ask yourself about the main point, structure, etc.

In addition, learn to map out the passage properly. I nearly always ace RC and having a decent synopsis of the passage saves loads of time. You can always go back and read in more detail as questions demand.

Scunning or anybody that cares to comment,

Could you describe your technique for mapping out a RC passage?  (What type of words you mark, symbology used, etc).  I'd sure appreciate hearing some other techniques...Thanks

I can totally relate to the pain felt with RC. I hate this section and I love to read. I agree, any advice would be helpful.
