Well, the upside is all these trendy names have made me even more certain than when I have children I will stick to the classics.  Elizabeth, Jane, Katherine, Charlotte, ala Jane Austen and Bronte novels.

Actually, I'll probably go with Vivian, after a great aunt who passed away.

personally a fan of the "big" girl names

Catherine
Virginia
Margaret
etc

Very classy.  And always in style.  I second this.

Though I don't have many selections for classic boy names (if I have a boy) because every name I think of reminds me of an ex-boyfriend  :(

Though, Ricky Nelson was super clever when he named one of his boys "gunner."  Awwww.

One of those is my name.
I know a little girl (she's 1) who is named Vivian Joy. I like that.

Now I have to guess which one!  My middle name is classic, and is after my mother, but my first name is just a diminuitive.

Almost as clever as Jett (John Travolta's son).

Makes me think of Apple and Coco and Phineas and Hazel.  WTF??  Does it ever occur to any of these celebs that one day their kid is going to get their ass kicked on a playground by a bunch of Heathers and Ashlees?

there you go lane - the mrs might like that since she's from GA

and paying homage to my fav senator, i may give one the middle name of Helms

As long as you don't name him Jessie. That's a dumb name.

I think my kids will be called Gonzo and Hortense.

you beat me to it Lassie.

i will also prevent any child of mine from having a name that can be diminutized into something ending in "ie"

you just can't escape that

the first son will be a jr.  the second oen will have a superbly "fratty" name along the lines of huntley bradford or something of the sort

I think I like boy names that are almost like last names.  Like Ellison (not saying I'd choose that, but just an example), or Bradford like you mention.
