Well, the upside is all these trendy names have made me even more certain than when I have children I will stick to the classics.  Elizabeth, Jane, Katherine, Charlotte, ala Jane Austen and Bronte novels.

Though I don't have many selections for classic boy names (if I have a boy) because every name I think of reminds me of an ex-boyfriend

One of those is my name.
I know a little girl (she's 1) who is named Vivian Joy. I like that.

Now I have to guess which one!  My middle name is classic, and is after my mother, but my first name is just a diminuitive.

the first son will be a jr.  the second oen will have a superbly "fratty" name along the lines of huntley bradford or something of the sort

I think I like boy names that are almost like last names.  Like Ellison (not saying I'd choose that, but just an example), or Bradford like you mention.
