prerequisite = necessary???
« on: September 17, 2005, 02:03:34 AM »

Good soil is a prerequisite of good farming.

In a MUST BE TRUE question, can I infer this as GF---> GS??

Thanks in advance.

think about it. if you have good soil, does that mean that it is farmed? No. If you have good good farming does that mean that you necessarily have good soil? Yes!

Dear OP:

You are absolutely right.  "Essential" "requires" "necessary" "prerequisite" are ALL the same.  They are interchangeable.

"Essential" "requires" "necessary" "prerequisite"

A+ requires Study.
Study is nessary, essential, prerequisite for A+.
(A+ is sufficient, S is necessary)
