Anyone have any info on the Webster's Society?  Is it based more on public interest work already done/potential to do or is it based more on GPA/LSAT?  Thanks.

From what I've seen, you've got to have some history of public service, in addition to a sparkling GPA/LSAT.  I'll try for it on the basis of volunteering time and computers to my mother's charitable organization, but I'm not a super public service hero.

If my GPA is median and my LSAT is just below 25% but I have FANTASTIC public interest done will full-time UG and paying for all my own school, do I even have a tiny chance?

(please, please, please,please...)

Good question.

Is this where I tell you to study more and re-take the LSAT?  Nah... this is where I tell ya the adcomms at WUSTL seemed to be the swellest bunch around.  Everybody has a chance!

Honestly, do you think they look at stuff like public interest more than other schools? It's ok to crush my hopes and dreams for going to WUSTL at this point...

I'd think... less than others, really.  They're trying to regain lost ground in the rankings (from 20-24 last ranking).  A new dean will help, and they have tons of scholarship money... but bear in mind, they still accept people 25% lower then you, LSAT-wise, so make a strong personal statement and hope they see you for more than a number.  They did seem to be very straight-forward with me on the phone and through e-mail, and geniunely willing to consider situational factors.  Good luck, I totally dig the school.

Tom - do you mean they have a new dean, or they need a new dean?

Please excuse my ignorance.  :)

I think they have a new dean...Kent Syverud takes over on January 1st, 2006.

They have a new Dean... http://news-info.wustl.edu/news/page/normal/5163.html  Apparently this guy did a very solid job at Vandy, and part of the reason for the drop was uncertainty about the Dean situation.

I'm anxious to hear back- mailed my app packet Priority a couple days ago.. Early Decision.

I plan on sending mine early decision in the next week or so.  But I really need some good scholarship money to even be able to consider.  I heart WUSTL though.
