I hope so. I would've had such an easier chance in the 2002 cycle than now.

Admissions for some schools might be less competitive this cycle but the top 14 will be the same, which i have no interests in those anyways. also, with the economy still growing more people will decide to get a job then continue on to grad school.

There was a post a month or so back claiming that apps would be down 1-2%, which would be significant.  Here's hoping...

I just went to an informational meeting at my undergrad, which had the deans of admission from 2 tier 1 law schools.  Both mentioned right off the bat the 9-10% decrease in LSATs for the June cycle, saying that it would benefit the applicants.  They also said they'd have a better assessment of the situation in the winter.  This isnt exactly mind-blowing stuff but it does prove that the decrease is on the minds of those in charge, and they hinted at this cycle being a bit easier, which made me feel better...

Law school apps are predicted to be down at Seattle U by the ad coms there, citing the economic downfall 4 years ago to be a reason for the increase of apps over the last few years...people needed a gauranteed job plan... but the recent stabilization and long term planning has led people back to normal = less law school applicants. They didn't say by how much but used the word "significant" in a session this past summer for prospective applicants.

This is probably true for most law schools, the top schools excluded.
