Unsubsidized Stafford for non-tuition expenses?

Due to overwhelming generosity from my wonderful grandmother, I will not need to pay tuition for law school. However, I wonder if this will prevent me from receiving any aid at all. I will still need substantial bucks to cover living expenses.

Does anyone know if you qualify for unsub'd Stafford loans even if your tuition is paid for?

stafford loans (or other kinds of institutionally directed aid) can be used for any directly related educational expenses, i.e. books, room and board, reasonable transportation etc -- basically anything that's included in the school's official student budget.

So would I still have to fill out a FAFSA for that?

Yes, if you want to borrow Stafford loans, you ms fill out a FAFSA, and renew it every year you intend to borrow from the program.
