What should I do wiith the Hurricane?

I go to Tulane in New Orleans and lost everything but at least I'm alive.  I have one more semester left of only electives.  I need to find another school before I can find out if they'll let me grad. early.  The only two options availible at the moment are Cornell and University of North Florida.  The two schools are really nowhere in comparison academically wise. 

The difference otherwise are: For UNF I will have to live with my parents and I will be a commuter student.  Tuition will be much cheaper.  UNF is ok but it seems to have a community school feel to it and I feel that it will be a very bad match for me academically wise.  Cornell is at least as good as Tulane if not better.  So it would probably be a "step up".  Thus Cornell will probably be more difficult than Tulane.  Cornell would cost more but just as much Tulane would have anyways.  I would probably live off campus which may mean a lot of extra costs.

First of all, I'm sorry for your loss. Secondly, if you feel that UNF is a ba match for you, I would definately go with Cornell. The costs associated with going there shouldn't be too bad with only one semester to go. Best of luck...

Baylor is taking in 6-7 Tulane students next week on a visitor basis, but is open to more. I could be wrong, but I think Baylor is a bit cheaper than Tulane and the law students are opening up their homes for the incomers. Give them a call.

Thanks for the replies.  I'm still in ugrad applying to Law School for 2006.  Another option just came up to go to UF.  Its feasible that I could live there or commute from where I live about 1 hour and 15 mins, I'd probably have to make a schedule that I only went to classes on two days a week.  To me UF is much more comparable to  Tulane than UNF.  Still though I would have to live with my parents  and live a long commute away from school.

Here's another option - I knwo that Penn State is accepting students from Tulane, Loyola, and other hurricane affected schools.  Why not move to happy valley for a year?

I just heard on the news that students who were enrolled at Tulane or Loyola are getting free admission to Baylor Law. Of course, the trade-off is that you get to live in lovely Waco, TX and attend our happy little "boot camp." But still, free tuition.....

I am confused.  Are you one semester away from getting your BA or your JD?

Go where you want to go. As far as your transcript is considered, going to a better school won't do anything especially if its for just a semester. Your transcript and dipolma will say "Tulane." It might be better to go to an easier school and get your GPA up higher.
