TLS is a joke insofar as it relates to law school. Its focus is only slightly broader than cheap entertainment for juveniles. On the other hand, LSD features many thoughtful, considerate posters who focus on issues and ideas relevant to the study of law, and who seem better prepared to disagree with a measure of civility becoming of present and future attorneys. If you're looking for a mature discussion about law and law schools, LSD is the place to be. If you want to trade anonymous insults with clowns and look at pictures and stuff, or get advice from pessimists who have never experienced life in the workforce, TLS has it all.

I'd love to see this website reinvigorated. However, for the majority of law students, mature internet discussion apparently isn't as fun as anonymously hurling insults at strangers.

Could not agree more and it is unfortunate that TLS, JDunderground and other sites are what many 0L's believe to be the truth.

At the end of the day if any 0L reads the post remember,  "those who know the least know it the loudest." TLS is a perfect example of that.

All of the big-name posters have graduated law school and left this place behind.

Sorry. Didn't mean to minimize your role here. From time to time I'm still tempted sometimes to lift BW's ban, just to spice things up for a bit. Then I remember just how bad a situation it would be.
Note: Insults made by me apply to everything associated with the people and ideas being insulted, except for other people.

IRRX, it seems you enjoy provocation and antagonism.

This. TLS is so terrible for prospective student advice. This board seems to be made up of experienced individuals who are in the field as opposed to sad bros that just didn't make it or hate the practice of law. I've been on and off here on LSD but everytime I've needed advice, the posters here responded in a rational and considerate manner. Much more insightful than the typical "retake the LSAT" rhetoric found on TLS

TLS is pretty bad. Any site where people have 10,000 posts before taking the LSAT is pretty much useless
JDunderground is "ok" but the go to the dome part if you want to see some real crazy posts jdunderground.com/dome
Sadly it is mostly anti-Semitic homophobic posts.
all4jds  would be ok but for the fact that it is mostly people who post about getting 126 scaled MBE scores their third attempt at it. Unless you want to watch the blind lead the blind off cliffs avoid it.

I shortly glanced at the xoxoxoth site, that thing is a headache just to look at. An 8 year old could organize a site better. Their webmaster must have a learning disability or something.

legalnut used to be ok, but they are mostly defunct now. ihatelawschool tried but their forum never really caughton

nontradlaw is a lot like this, good stuff but almost no life to it sadly

dear god avoid the nando poop photo site. post anything on it that isn't an ego stroke to that Coprophiliac and he will reroute your IP to African American homosexual porn (if you read his posts he seems to be VERY crazed with the subject matter. Freud with have field day with that nutcase.

This site is good, I just wish it had more life to it.

Agreed it used to be very active back when I was applying, but I am not sure what happened.

Everybody started going to the other sites you mentioned, because it is a lot easier to say how awful everything is, which is what those other sites do.

Over time hopefully people will come back to this site as I believe many of the posters offer a realistic viewpoint.

Agreed.

This site used to be THE site for pre-laws and law students.  I both received and gave out tons of real substantive advice about law school and the legal profession on this site.

At some point around 2009 when the recession hit and the legal market took a severe downturn, all of the traffic that used to be here all moved over to TLS.

And you already know how they operate over there.
