At this very moment i am writing my master thesis on (possible) consequences of social media on employment relations.
In one of the chapters, i wanted to discuss the (case) law in the USA about firing an employee for (e.g.) gross misconduct.
I noticed that the National Labor Relations Boards publishes reports once in a while about this matter, but i do not understand at all what kind of organisation this is. Neither is it clear to me when an employee can sue his employer in court or when he/she needs to file a complaint to the NLRB.
How does this all work? And is whatever the NLRB says 'law' or are those just recommendations? Or what?
Could someone please help me in this matter? I would be very grateful.
