That just proves the age old fact: You have to show up to matter.

I don't care what your lsat score is or your gpa, if you don't show up then we are better off without you. One less coward to worry about. Probably the kids of people like "unbiased" who had their undergrad paid for by a check from daddies account, have no debt, only took the lsat to make him happy and now just want to live with a boyfriend and not have to try anymore. "life is hard"

I couldn't agree more.  Most of the "smart" kids taking the LSAT are probably doing it because they can't find a job out of undergrad and are being encouraged by their parents.  They could also be taking the MCATS to see if they might want to go to med school.  So what if they score a 170?  If you want to be successful - you will be.  The LSAT can be mastered with practice.  While that does not mean everyone will/can get a 170, there wouldn't be LSAT courses designed to help students get better grades if there wasn't some sort of identifiable method to it.  Of course the brightest minds are going to the best schools, but scoring well on a standardized test like the LSAT doesn't mean much if you don't really want to be a lawyer.

Just a speculative thought- is the same true across most graduate and professional programs? 

During a recession its typical for people to go back to school.  I now see adds everywhere for Caribbean med schools and MBA programs.

never need go away for mba, because u.s. have many m.b.a. programs with extremely low selectivity.  medical schools all at least fairly high selectivity because a.m.a. limit number graduates, so demandr medical education always dominate supply.

Are you saying law program numbers play by different rules then everything else?  Docent the ABA, indirectly, limit the number of law school grads?

The LMU suit in Knoxville was foolhardy because of an impatient approach, not because they are all out wrong about the ABA trying to limit the numbers of new law grads.

aba prefer fewer law grads, but this take form of asking schools limit class size rather than refuse accredit more schools.  aba already have plenty hot water that topic, focus on standards for accreditation.  number law school matriculants now higher than used be, so apparently aba not so effective.

ama seem able actually limit med school grads, which planned very long-term.  shortages appear be of gps rather than specialists.
