Is it okay to send a letter of "continued interest"...

This may sound silly, but is it okay to send a letter of continued interest to a REACH school that has not given me a decision either way yet.  I submitted my application 7 weeks ago, have not heard back, and am pretty sure will be denied.  My thought process is that if I'm likely going to be denied anyways, a letter describing why I want to go there specifically can't hurt.  Or can it?

Yes its ok as far as I'm aware.  I know some schools tend to WL people who don't as a means of protecting their yeild #s.

I did it to a few schools and I certainly don't think it hurts you. As long as you write something coherent it would probably help you. No school would mind hearing how great they are. Don't over do it, but maybe a letter or two over the cycle period could help you out.
