Florida Character and Fitness - Financial Irresponsibility
« on: January 21, 2011, 04:48:57 PM »
Has anyone that has had severe financial issues, such as delinquent or charged off accounts, foreclosure, or bankruptcy, survived the financial irresponsibility portion of Florida Bar's character and fitness requirement?

I am applying to the Florida bar now, and have experienced all of the above due to a failed business, and am seriously considering not submitting my application and moving to another state with less stringent financial requirements.  I'm having trouble finding other people that are, or have been, in my situation and would like any information on what to expect should I file my application in Florida.  Thanks in advance.

There's a fellow on nontradlaw.net (?) that has applied to the Florida bar and described its torturous processes.  You might search "backbencher" and read his posts.  Perhaps send him a note.
