Just curious...Has anyone heard of a friend or they themselves do JAG service for the US?

What benefits do you get...do they pay off your loans...etc...

I interviewed with them, but the only one that offered the loan repayment was the Army. I believe it was 60k upon accepting the offer, but the other branches did not offer anything. I might be wrong about the numbers, but I do remember only the Army gave extra money for loan forgiveness.

The Navy and the Marine Corps are in the same "boat", so to speak, and do not offer money as a hook.  In the sea services recruiting culture, putting money on the table to recruit "volunteers" is taboo.  In essence, they want people who want to be a Marine/sailor, regardless of the compensation.

They do, however, have the same fiscal resources available to them that any other branch offers. See--(http://www.jag.navy.mil/documents/Careers/Student%20Loan%20Relief%20Programs.pdf

It is well worth speaking to an Officer Selection Officer (OSO), or checking out the following sites:

I can't speak from personal experience in JAG, but I am an active Officer in the Marine Corps and I can provide a perspective on training and benefits.  Let me know if you are interested.

I would love to do JAG.  I plan on applying to Army JAG for the November boards.  If you just type in JAG, and pretty much anything else you can think of, you can come up with a lot of information.
