 It just occurred to me that I am the only person I know in my law school that went to a public high school. I obviously don't know everybody, but I found it strange and  wanted to know if that was the case at other schools?

A little off topic but interesting:
There have actually been studies that show it doesn't matter whether you go public or private. In a study of people who got into private but went to public instead, median salary after graduation (from either university or lawschool) remained the same. Conclusion was that the kind of school didn't actually matter. The level of education and faculty remained generally the same. The private/higher prestige school simply graduate more successful individuals because they were initially more selective than public schools.

I actually did a little bit of both.  I went to elementary school at private and then High School at a fine public school.  I got a taste of both worlds which I think is good.

I was educated by the Jesuits in high school, but went on to a public undergrad.  Would love to revisit the Jesuits at GULC....

Heck I've seen people with GED get into lawschool and do just fine. Its what you do AFTER highschool that matters.

Even undergrad dosn't matter anymore.

Public education system for k-12, then private for college. A lot of the public schools were just too big for what I wanted in college, but there are certainly very prestigious public universities.

I'm not in Law School yet but I went to private prep and private high school. Will be graduating from a private University (undergrad) but I honestly don't think this makes a difference one way or the other, generally speaking. Just my opinion.

One thing that I do know is for me, the private grade school I attended was British, and I attribute my grammar and knowledge in the English language to the demanding teachers. I also had courses that most people don't have such as British history, Chilean history (the british school I went to was in Chile) among others, but that means nothing in getting into Law School (except for grammar and knowing how to write and read well- always important)
