Any feedback about Cooley Ann Arbor Campus
« on: March 05, 2010, 11:17:38 AM »
I've applied for admission to 4 local LS including Cooley's Ann Arbor campus, beginning this summer term (May).  I'll be working full-time during the day and attending part-time (9 cr/sem) in the evenings.  Since it is a satellite campus and brand new, I'm concerned it could be a bare-bones operation without the typical / necessary resources required to be a successful student (whatever that is).  I'm planning on visiting the open house at the end of the month, but I would value responses from current students.  Does anyone have first-hand experience with Cooley-AA to share?

Every Cooley campus is good. Best law school in the county. Also, if you decide you dont like AnnArbor after a term you can transfer to the other 3 locations in the state. People do it all the time for lots of reasons.

If your working fulltime then you may want to consider the 6credit 5year plan instead, they offer it on weekends too if you want to go just one day a week. Most fulltime workers go with that.

Remember that your first term in addition to your actual credits you have another zero credit but mandatory class called "intro to law" which takes up what would normally be considered 2credits worth of your time. Its free, but mandatory.

Lansing is clearly the central-hub for the law school.  There are more professors, students, and staff at that location than the other combined.  A buddy at the Ann Harbor campus had to come to Lansing to access documents from the SBA.

How come LSD has suddenly turned into Cooley central? Seems like every third post made here is about Cooley.

A bunch of Cooley students and prospective Cooley students all joined at once for whatever reason. Other boards (TLS, xoxo) are not exactly welcoming to Cooley students, so I can see why they would come here.
