I'm a 1L and need to make a choice between a paid (500 a week, 9 weeks) honors program with the NYC Law Dept working on eminent domain and economic development issues (handling leases, development plans, and contractual agreements with developers and other city agencies to expand city revenue) and a federal judicial internship (unpaid) with a Eastern District of NY Judge.

Will one or the other look better to firms come FALL OCI? Is it better to get paid, and work directly in legal matters in what is basically a large (650 attorney) public firm in what is considered a selective program (50 out of 3000 applications supposedly chosen) or to have the prestige of a federal judicial internship?
