Transferring from CALS to ABA School?
« on: March 02, 2010, 02:31:28 AM »
Hi, all. I am considering a transfer from a CALS (CA Committee of Bar Examiners) approved  school in NoCA to an ABA school in SoCA. So, far my grades are close to the top and I will have a transcript after the May exams. Could anyone share experiences or make suggestions as to the right approach? My school of interest in SoCA is Southwestern with specific attention to the part-time evening program and entertainment law. Thanks in advance.

Your question is specific and concentrated on one school.  I would suggest calling Southwestern and asking to speak to an Admissions official.  Lay out your story and ask them if it is feasible to transfer.  Good Luck!!

I'd ask all the CA ABA schools if they take it. What term are you in? If your still a 1L it may be worth transfering to an ABA even if nothing transfers. Otherwise you probally want to finish and try getting the LLM at an ABA school.
