I have a virus from this site. Sometimes new internet tabs keep popping up repeatedly from this site until my Internet Explorer just freezes. It's not possible for me to get a virus from this site without clicking on external links, at least I don't think it is. So which of you are hackers? Do you not like my posts? heh.

My problem is exclusive to this website. It's not ads that are popping up, it's multiple "law school discussion" tabs (I have multi-tab Internet Explorer browsing) that keep popping up over and over. This doesn't happen for any other website. And since I don't click on external links here, my only guess is that there is a hacker lurking on here, most likely associated somehow with this website and is able to get my IP.

Unfortunately most AV-programs dont protect against ads. Aside from installing an ad-blocker you could simply switch from Internet explorer, which is probably the most vulnerable and insecure browser there is, to Firefox or Opera. These have strong ad-blocking integrated though you probably have to enable it in the options first. Honestly you should give it try, most people who switch to Firefox are like "Why didn't I do this before?"... The thing is, I don't think this is happening to anyone else and I don't think my system is really any less secure than mmost people's. I do believe I am being targeted and this is not a normal virus. Viruses tend to be more consistent with their symptoms. I also don't think an ad virus is capable of preventing me from re-formatting...the most malicious viruses tend to be associated by clicking on random links when surfing the web.It has happened to and does continue to happen to other people. RE: "I also don't think an ad virus is capable of preventing me from re-formatting", It sounds like you might have gotten a root kit somehow, been perusing any porn sites? They are notorious for having stuff that infects your PC in various ways and much of the malicious code IS contained in ads that are served up by various websites. Call them ITD's rather than STD'sPut a hardware firewall in place (a router), clean up your PC with CCleaner and use a good AV/AD program that updates itself daily. no, I haven't been "perusing porn sites". I am well aware that porn sites are the biggest source of viruses. The origin of this virus is without question from this site.Have you seen a virus that messes with my typing window? Even as I am typing right now, the window scroll bar (the one within LSD that controls this message) keeps going up, so I can't see what I'm typing unless I type really fast. It's hard to explain, but basically this is a way to prevent me from posting on this site.I've experienced the same thing even with having Fort Knox security running. It depends on the browser you are using. Plus, Andrew, the board owner/controller, has made some software changes/supposed upgrades in the last few weeks. Notice that now, no matter what browser you are using, when you press 'preview' for your post before pressing 'post' that you get mainly a big purplish/maroon box where you cannot see your text?He screwed something up along the way with his supposed UPGRADE actions. what's weird though is that this only happens with my laptop, and not a desktop PC that I tried, which is used by somebody else in the apartment.

I just tried it out with a PC running XP and another one running Vista and tried MS IE, Firefox and google chrome. With both PC's I had that problem using IE but not with firefox or chrome. The PC is also running XP/IE and receives the microsoft updates regularly. This troubles me.

Since when did you two become "bestest high fiving" buddies?Ah viruses. Both virtual and physical. They bring people together.
