Open transfer invitation

so i'm at a lower ranked (T100) regional school in the area i'd like to end up practicing (SF), but I have an open invitation to transfer to a top 10 school in a very different city. are the city connections i'll get at my current school worth it enough to stay or is a top 10 enough of a door opener in most cities to be worth the transfer?

You should do fine in SF attending a T10, and it'll open other doors for you as well.

What's an "open invitation to transfer"?  A T10 school basically said that you were admitted after your first year?

I've never heard of that.  How did that affect your decision on where you went the first year?  I assume that you tried to go somewhere with a somewhat lenient curve.

decided on a school highly regarded in SF in case i didn't make the GPA or loved it so much i wanted to stay. they also gave me a very nice 1/2 tuition merit scholarship

There was an article written about these conditional transfers,the T10 school the poster is talking about is Northwestern.

Edit: Also, you are getting a little ahead of yourself stating that it is an open invitation, high GPAs in law school are hard to come by and you probably haven't even finished your first semester finals yet. There is no way to have an accurate idea about your grades until they are posted.
