LOR from current 3L?

So I have already gotten my LORs all set but I also have a friend who attends UConn Law (my first choice).  I was wondering if it would be worth having them write and LOR to put in with my application to UConn.  I know that the individual is very well respected on campus and very involved. 

Any thoughts would help.

better off having them go and personally talk to the dean of admissions, if he knows him/her.

yea, and take a letter in with them, and tell dean they think you would be a good admit. I did that for someone in this thread, and they got a call same day  :P
