Students attending local Bar Association committee meetings?

Hi, 

I am interested in health law, and so far havent had any luck landing a 2L summer associate positions at any firms.  I was given the advice that I should attend the local Chicago Bar Review's Health Law Committee meeting.  Have any students ever attended similar committee meetings?  If so, do you feel it was helpful/ helped you to network or gain potential employment opportunities?  Just wondering if it would be worthwhile to go.
