Paralegal employment

Is this the right place to ask about this? Couldnt find a paralegal discussion forum.

I just graduated from college with a degree in Criminal Justice. I'm looking to find work as a paralegal. Is a paralegal certificate necessary?

If so, which is best? NYU's Diploma in Paralegal Studies?

At the law firm I worked at this past summer, some of the paralegals had the certificate and some did not.  I would go ahead and send your resume out to some firms and see if you get any response.  If so, no need to waste your money on the certificate!  I don't know anything about NYU's program since I don't know anyone who went there, sorry.
