Transferring from Hofstra
« on: August 14, 2009, 05:16:26 PM »
Hey all--

I just started Law School at Hofstra, and really want to transfer to a better school. I would appreciate any tips/advice that I should follow from day 1 of Law School to ensure that I do well and am able to transfer.

Thanks!!

Don't count on transferring. That's my advice.

A lot of the first year is trial and error, and a lot of other people will probably be trying to transfer as well.

Congrats on starting at Hofstra. I'd suggest concentrate on doing the best you can and not about transferring yet. On a side note, it is possible to transfer, but from personal experience, I could have easily transferred but decided to stay. So you could easily change your mind or find that transferring is not worth it.

Withdraw and study for, and retake the LSAT. That is the best advice I can give if you really want to go to a better school.
