I have extreme split grades from my UG and pretty good softs (Humane Society volunteer work); also, I have great letters of recommendations. I'm looking to get into the private schools in Minnesota (Hamline, William Mitchell, St. Thomas). What are my chances?

Also, I have a philosophy degree. I stopped going to the school I got my bad grades at in 2003 and reenrolled at a different college in 2008. Any advice at all would be welcome.

I don’t know what to tell you but I might be in a similar situation as you eventually. I use to go to Ohio where I earn as Associates degree in Graphic Design. I graduated in 2006 with a GPA of 2.30 because I never study. Now enrolled in a college I like a lot I am earning a Bachelor in Business that I am 2/3 done with a GPA of 3.0. So I know what you mean.

The 162 should get you into at least one of those if not all. You're 6 points higher than the top 25% reported for Hamline.  Short of a criminal record, you probably have little to worry about of not getting accepted anywhere despite the low UG GPA.
