Appalachian School of Law question

Hey, everyone,

I picked ASL as my fall back school (I'm from Bristol, Tennessee) and I have a question.  A friend told me the school doesn't grade 1L students.  That sounds good--almost too good, so I was wondering if anyone had experience with this and could give an opinion on how it works, especially if you think you might want to transfer to another school at the end of your first year and need to show you have the grades to transfer.  Gracias!

I don't know for sure, but based on the 19 people that failed out on the most recent LSAC report, I doubt it.

Yep, no formal grading.

I'd imagine it makes it very hard to transfer since you don't have any grades for schools to look at.

As I understand it, the grading system is pass/fail BUT the professors do compute actual grades used to begin rankings in the second year.

So they just tell people if they p/f, but they also keep track of the actual gpa and then boot people if they fail out...

Hopefully you at least get a letter or a kiss first.
