Good Starting Salary

I haven't snooped around in their bank accounts, but I can plead based on information and belief that plenty of small or mid-size suburban law firms will put you in this range.  Firms that were passed down from another generation but haven't grown more than 10 or 20 lawyers.  Looking at these guys and gals walk around town I don't think they make $35-45k.  ;-)

Of course, these jobs might be just as competitive as BIGLAW in some circumstances.

There are "regional powerhouse" or "quasi biglaw" firms in secondary markets that pay in the $85K-110K range. Usually these are firms with 75-200 attys. The problem is these places are very selective. In a good economy, these firms will only hire 2-5 associates per year, and then only from the law review editorial board (read tippy top of the class) at the local law schools in their state.

it's attorneys are from the best and the worst schools.
