Cigarettes at the LSAT?

I can sympathize.

The proctors weren't overly stringent about enforcing the list of permitted items during both of my sittings for the LSAT.

I would recommend bringing a jacket and hiding your cigs and lighter in one of your pockets. I would be willing to bet that you won't raise anyone's attention unless you frequently reach for your jacket during the test.

That's def a good idea, I doubt they'd check the pockets of my jacket... very smart. Thanks!

OK, so clearly, I had two totalitarian testing sites. We had to leave our jackets on tables in the back of the room AND had to empty our pockets.

well, i think i'll bring two packs- one in my jacket and another in my clear ziplock bag... hopefully they wont search through both... maybe i should have another pack in my pocket just in case... it's funny, now i'm more concerned over being able to smoke during the lsat than i am about taking the test itself. lol.

I just took it a few week ago. One of the proctors had to escort the smokers to the elevator & then went outside with them.

My thought on the break - it's SHORT.

Are you not allowed to walk out to your car in the parking lot anymore? I thought I remeber going out to my car to smoke, but this was years ago. Maybe just put 1-2 smokes in your bag so its not as obviouse as a whole pack.

Yeah, there was definitely some discussion between the smokers & the proctors around the elevators during the break. The smokers had very serious looks on their faces.

I imagine if you get a strict proctor, you may be out of luck.

Just stick a cigarette or two plus a lighter in a zip lock bag and stash them in the bushes in front of your sight.  fool proof.

listen, all you have to do is walk out of the room at the break, walk to the nearest exit, as soon as you hit the door, light up [both] cigarettes, and have at it.  the first person you'll see sure as hell won't be a proctor, it'll be the other smoker in your room.  when you're done, just walk back in to the bathroom and wash up. no big deal.

whatever you do, don't be the kid who asks the proctor [or anyone for that matter] if it's okay to go outside and smoke...
