Vandy lets in like 10 students as transfers.  If you didn't get in yet you probably got overlooked on their first "pass."  I'm guessing that they'll probably wait until all the people they have let in thus far have accepted or declined to see if there are even any seats left...

Applying early is the name of the game.  I applied extremely early and I got into some schools I feel like I have no business being at with my stats.

This seems to be the case. I wish I would have known about it more, but then again my 2nd semester grades switched the schools I was applying to so I needed another LOR which I didn't get until the end of June almost anyways.

Oh and Vandy told me they have 12 open spots this year.

  Yeah I think they told me 12 on the phone interview too.  However, they also said that 2 of the spots were already filled by grad students transferring over from the philosophy department to get a double degree or something.
