"Special Accommodations" and Law School Exams

What are the opinions regarding special accommodations for law school exams? If a classmate (with no physical disabilities and no apparent learning disabilities) has requested special accommodations, received them, and then averaged 93 (out of 95) while booking one of five classes, should one be suspicious? How does one proceed in such a situation?

Most schools have a pretty rigorous procedure to go through to get accommodations for learning disabilities. Many will require a full battery of tests given by a licensed educational psychologist that can last 2 days and cost upwards of $2k depending on how bad your learning disability is. Itís very hard to ďfake itĒ because of the number and overlap of the tests. Plus the always include a background history of accommodations in  the past and well as past performance in school.

A few schools will accept a diagnosis of ADD from just a family MD, but those are pretty rare these days. In those cases its easy to game the system. But for the most part the people who are getting accommodations have been checked out and have a learning disability and the documentation to prove it and need the extra time or other accommodation to help even the playing field.

Are there some folks who game the system, sure, but there are folks who game every system. How do you proceed? You just worry about the things you can control and not the things you canít. For every 1 person to aces a class with learning disabilities there will be many more who even with accommodations end up on the lower end of the grading curve. So it evens out. You have an advantage over the vast majority of people with learning disabilities so donít female dog too much when one with them gets an advantage over you. Like most things in life we would not trade problems with someone else if we really knew what they had to go through.
*In clinical studies, Matthies was well tolerated, but women who are pregnant, nursing or might become pregnant should not take or handle Matthies due to a rare, but serious side effect called him having to make child support payments.
