Difficulty for Canadian citizen to work as lawyer in US?

Hi, just wondering how hard would it be for a Canadian citizen who graduated from one of the top 5 law schools to work in the US?

US immigration laws seem tough but if anyone knows Canadians in their law firm, are their degrees from the US or Canada?

My firm has a summer associate from Canada, so it must be possible. I do know that there was an issue with his visa that made him show up late to the program.

if you mean from a visa perspective, it is fairly easy for a canadian attorney to work in the US. the NAFTA visa (known as the TN visa) is cheap to apply for, is renewable any number of times, and imposes no burden on an employer, other than confirming that the employee works for it in a legal capacity.

if you mean whether an employer will hire you if you have a canadian law degree, i have no idea.
