What year/class to get a letter of rec?

I'm a second year now, going to be a junior next year.

Does it matter what professor you get a letter of rec from (like the type of class they teach and lower or upper div?) and what year should I start looking at (now, 3rd or 4th?)

You're a sophomore, not a second year. On this board, "second year" implies that you're a 2L, not some flunky still working on his BA.

Get a LOR from any prof that can speak well of you as a student. Now is fine, but later is good too. Just get them before Nov. of the year you're applying to law school.
