Way too 'pie in the sky' and misguided at that.  Their approach toward immigration policy would effectively turn Canada into an free-for-all welfare state...more so than it already is.  Sorry, but if I was paying exorbitant ON taxes, I wouldn't want to be subsidizing people who export wages from Canada, but import their medical needs and leech the education system.

Dude.. don't get into it with me. You were in Canada for all of 4 years, it doesn't make you an expert in Canadian politics.

I don't think I need to be an 'expert' (I'm assuming you are?) to voice an opinion.  Plus, I suppose by your logic you couldn't get into any discussion on American politics with me, considering that you haven't lived here at all ::)
If looks could kill, you would be an uzi.

Fair enough. You have your right to your opinion.

Dude, I just don't like seeing taxpayers get robbed no matter which country they reside in.  Believe me, there are plenty of folks who take advantage of Canada's refugee policy to get some upstanding health care.  I don't know, I wish I had some health care right about now, but I'm not about to pull some stunt.

Is there an option for "Republican for 43 years, Democrat for 2 weeks?"

I agree with you.

Also, I'm not a fan of extreme taxation either, hence my move away from the NDP. But I will vote for them if the liberal platform resembles the conservatives a little too closely. Unfortunately, a minority government here induces compromise more than a majority.

You following Ignatieff's campaign?
